Red palm trees in a blue desert - Annemarie Terlage depicts fictional worlds that exist only in her imagination. With this new solo exhibition Memories of Landscapes, Impulse Gallery is delighted to announce the representation of the artist in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Annemarie Terlage (b. 1967 in the Netherlands) composes lush landscapes and architectural settings through her unique experimental approach of mixing epoxy and acrylic paint on canvas. The balance not only results from a trained painter’s eye, but was developed parallel with the intricate study of the material qualities of epoxy and acrylic paint. Dreams, old memories, and and visions of an ideal world determine the subjects of the new series of monumental paintings that Terlage created specially for this exhibition. Aspirational titles like Hazey Haven, Summer of 69 and Melancholic Hill go along with reminiscent images of colorful architectural constructions surrounded by extravagant gardens and beautifully illuminated pools.
