Impulse Gallery is pleased to announce its first exhibition of 2025 "Vital Experts" featuring the work of Lipp & Leuthold, a groundbreaking Swiss artist duo whose practice navigates the fluid boundary between abstraction and figuration. Opening on the 10th of January from 18:00 - 21:00, this exhibition will focus on their mastery of the line as a central element in their work—a medium that carries vitality, marks transitions, and embodies both structure and spontaneity.
Lipp & Leuthold’s artistic process is defined by their deliberate balance between control and openness. As they explain, “We leave some steps deliberately open; for others, we develop guidelines.” This approach imbues their paintings with a sense of constant evolution, where the line is not merely a marker but an active participant in the creation of the work. Their lines—at times frenetic and gestural, at others deliberate and structural—traverse their canvases, creating spaces that oscillate between chaos and order.
With "Vital Experts", Impulse Gallery will highlight Lipp & Leuthold’s ability to turn the act of painting into a profound inquiry into transformation. Their work challenges viewers to consider how meaning is made, how form emerges, and how transitions—between abstraction and representation, between chaos and structure—are negotiated.
