In Bunnies and in Colour: Hunt Slonem & Annemarie Terlage

Impulse Gallery is delighted to present its first exhibition of 2023 featuring new works by Hunt Slonem and Annemarie Terlage.

 

"In Bunnies and in Colour" honours the start of the Chinese year of the rabbit in 2023 with a rich variety of new works by Hunt Slonem who is renowned for his most popular "Bunnies" series. Upon his birth in 1951, the year of the Rabbit, Slonem was instantly inspired by this animal as the zodiac represented a symbol of luck and enrichment. Throughout the decades of his career as an artist, Slonem has always returned to his most recognizable subject: emphasizing the beauty in both repetition yet inimitable brushwork.

 

The "Bunnies" series of Hunt Slonem are exhibited together with Annemarie Terlage's latest body of works that are similarly composed through contrasts in colour and texture: each representing a personal memory of a landscape or composition aided by her creativity in the use of epoxy and acrylic paint. The playfulness and dreamy delicacy of the works of both artists set the viewer's gaze into a vivid motion along the paintings "In Bunnies and In Colour".
