HeTianQi (贺天琪) was born in the city of Xi An in the Shaan Xi province in 1990 where he still resides and works. After graduating from the Xi An Academy of Fine Arts with a master's degree in 2016, he was invited to visit a scholar at the Chinese Culture Center in Paris, France. This is where he mainly formed his inspiration to not only create paintings on canvas but also to realize large-scale public paintings.
He Tianqi's work cleverly conceals thoughts and emotions beneath playful visual mechanisms. By gradually reducing the narrative nature of his images, he creates his own perceived landscapes made up of surrealistic subjects. The distinctive geometric and chromatic dynamic in his work is complemented by a palette of fluorescent and ultra-bright colors that shade both geometric and organic forms. This artistic language, with its strong presence, is sure to captivate the viewer. Memories, landscapes, and still lifes are reinterpreted and reproduced by He Tianqi in a nearly psychedelic manner, showcasing his unique approach to contemporary art and capturing the attention of art enthusiasts and collectors.
